Speed Wheel A speed wheel tracks motion of a conveyor belt. When the sensor inside the wheel does not see rotation, control cable leads to shutdown the conveyor belt and other interlocked equipment in the process chain to prevent material pile-up. Conveyor belts can nuisance trip due to large loads onto the belt slowing the belt or, hopping of the belt. The speed wheel does not loss contact with the belt and therefore, the sensor continues to see rotation or, slow of rotation avoiding any nuisance of tripping the breaker. We can in addition couple the speed wheel with a timing control cabinet prevent nuisance tripping by the use of a time-delay relay. You can adjust the timeframe it to fit your production needs. What is interlocking? If your production line does not have an interlocking scheme, it is highly recommended for safety and maximum material yield. Interlocking is a feature of making a state of two functions dependent. Example of interlock equipment in a production line, when the conveyor belt of freshly crushed rock shuts down, you also want the crusher feeding that belt to shut down.
